This is our fifth vintage of Vat 32 Semillon Chardonnay. It is a compelling blend of classically shaped Semillon and French oak barrel-fermented Chardonnay. The result is a delicious and unique style that sits comfortably as one of the very few multiple varietal blends within our range. Our first four vintages of Vat 32 Semillon Chardonnay have been so well received that this label has become a mainstay in our brand.

This wine was originally introduced as a way to make use of the Chardonnay vines that had been planted in amongst the gaps of our Braemore vineyard over the past 50 years.  We have since replaced or grafted those vines with more Semillon and now source some old vine Chardonnay from just over the fence on the Casuarina vineyard.

  • In the Vineyard

We have now completed our program of marking and replacing the 'rogue' Chardonnay vines that were scattered around the Braemore vineyard with grafts from the existing Semillon vines. The Chardonnay for the first two vintages of Vat 32 came from going through the whole vineyard and hand-picking these marked vines. The 2025 Chardonnay was sourced from the Casuarina vineyard, which is located just over the fence of the Braemore vineyard on the same deep sandy loam alluvial soil. The Semillon is sourced from our Braemore vineyard.

  • Appearance & Aroma

With its vivid pale straw colour and captivating nose of lime juice, white peach, grapefruit and cashew, this wine gives an indication of its generosity.

  • Palate & Finish

There’s a silken creamy texture supporting a core of yuzu citrus, Spanish melon, star and yellow dragonfruit notes. A layer of cashew and lemon shortbread adds allure. The finish is long and moreish with a bright, refreshing acidity, cleansing the palate. Long and lingering with both varietals beautifully integrated.
