Semillon Single Vineyard Pack
The 2019 vintage Semillons are classically styled. Thommo says "I love the shape and vibrancy of these wines, they all have that beautiful line of acidity which will provide them with great cellaring potential. In 2019 the Semillons ripened at lower sugar levels (and hence lower alcohols), than the previous two riper/more generous vintages. The feeling around the Valley is that the Sems from 2019 are the best of the last three vintages, and I’m definitely on board with that sentiment".
This pack includes two each of the Single Vineyard Semillons, each wine an expression of the vineyard & the soils in which they are grown.
- The Fordwich Hill Semillon is grown on the rich red volcanis soils of the Broke Wine Region. Here the fruit is earlier ripening providing a generous style with distinctive tropical fruit aromatics.
- The OC comes from the south of the Valley, off the transitional loam/sand of Oakey Creek flats. This Semillon is bursting with bright lemon zest cirtrus. A Semillon built for satisfying thirst and curiosity now, but will also reward patience with time in the cellar.
- Braemore Semillon comes from our 50 year old Braemore vineyard (planted 1969). The vineyard is situated on ancient sandy alluvial flats of Hermitage Road, Pokolbin, and consistently produces Semillon featuring freshness, vibrancy and remarkable longevity. This wine has achieved an enviable reputation in recent years as being one of the finest examples of classic Hunter Valley Semillon.
