Often referred to as Australia’s unique gift to the world of wine, Semillon is definitely the signature variety of the Hunter Valley.
Historically, most Hunter Semillon was bottle aged before release. A contemporary approach to winemaking has resulted in some interesting ‘textural’ complexities in these wines, making them more attractive and approachable in their youth.
An unwooded style, young Hunter Semillon displays fresh, vibrant lemon/lime characters with amazing purity and length. Think summer, sunshine, freshly shucked oysters/bucket of prawns, sashimi... Yes, you get the picture.
